The Connecticut Audubon Society has spent over 125 years as an independent champion for the state’s birds and their environments, combining science-based research with on-the-ground action.
Connecticut Audubon manages 22 wildlife sanctuaries that encompass more than 3,400 acres of open space, and is a statewide leader in habitat restoration—from the coast of Long Island Sound to the inland grasslands and forests.
Through its signature annual Connecticut State of the Birds report, the organization provides the foundation for critical conservation and advocacy work, successfully pushing for policies and actions that reduce pesticides, mitigate climate change impacts, and protect vulnerable species like the Piping Plover.
Connecticut Audubon integrates citizen science, expert-led stewardship, and land preservation to help ensure that the state’s natural heritage remains a thriving, resilient haven for wildlife and residents alike.
